What is Total Motion Release
TMR is a patient-centered approach to pain reduction. It helps relieve conditions such as weakness, pain, diminished mobility in joints, and stiffness from the neck to the feet. By showing the client and the therapist how imbalances in other regions of the clients body affect the painful or injured area, TMR helps to restore movement and alleviate pain and stiffness. In most cases, it greatly reduces the pain and negative influence on your body from another region.
Developed by Tom Dolanzo Baker, PT
TMR is remarkably efficient and manages to deliver superior pain relief very quickly. TMR works by releasing the restrictions in the body that cause degenerative changes such as arthritis, tendonitis, degenerative discs, muscle strains, and ligamentous sprains. It allows the body to naturally realign and heal, which proves to be more effective and long-lasting.
We take a look at your overall movement patterns to find out exactly where the limitations are, and then use the easiest movements to balance and relieve the limited or painful ones.
One of the primary advantages of TMR is that it teaches you how to fix yourself, regardless of where your pain is.
The Body Scan
We test the five largest joints in our body, the spine, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles, using only six motions. Remember that the bodywants to be in balance. If you are experiencing pain or tightness with any of these motions, it could mean that other parts of your body are overused or are compensating.
The point is is that you’re only using comfortable motions toto get better instead of strenuous or painful ones. No special equipment is needed and you can apply these easy motions as needed to make your pain go and stay away. It puts you in control and empowers you to get rid of your own pain.
